  • From a cave to a palace – Rags to riches

Talk about rags to riches. Two men from Hungary, Zsolt and Geza Peladi who have been living in a cave because they are so poor are set to inherit a mega fortune. They had to rummage for scraps on the streets which they sold for cheap. But now they have a huge mega fortune. And how much is mega? How about £4 billion, or $6.5 billion? That is the fortune they will inherit!

Ok, so they may have to split it up between themselves and their sister (who lives in America), but still, they’ll all be billionaires even after the split.

How did they come to such a stupendous fortune? Well, apparently their maternal grandmother was very wealthy, and therefore, so was their mother. But their mother cut off ties with her family, and lost touch with her children (the brothers), until she died one day.

When the brother’s maternal grandmother passed away in Germany, they became the closest next of kin to be entitled for the fortune, since German law stipulates that the closest direct descendents are entitled to the share of any estate.

If this all works out it will certainly make up for the life we have had until now – all we really had was each other – no women would look at us living in a cave,” said Geza.

But with money maybe we can find a partner – and finally have a normal life. We don’t know yet if she (their mother) even told our grandmother about us – I understand it was only while they were carrying out genealogical research that lawyers found we existed,” added Geza.

This must be the most stupendous rags-to-riches story I ever heard. Better than any powerball lottery.

PS: What did they do in their past life to deserve such luck? :)
